Creating and Implementing Effective Career  Academies

Integrating Rigorous Academic and Relevant CTE curriculum

Career Academies can be a framework for restructuring schools to provide dramatic student performance improvement. Unless the Career Academy is designed to provide a small learning community atmosphere with a student interest focus, the Career Academy may not provide the expected results. This workshop is designed to help Career Academy Teams identify ways to work together effectively to improve student performance. Developing learning teams, integrating standards, teaching as a team, communicating with parents, and measuring student performance are all topics within this multiple day workshop.

Tech Prep has long advocated integration of academic and vocational education. With high stakes testing and increased emphasis on rigorous curriculum, it is even more important to make the connections between rigorous academic content and relevant applications of that content through Career Technical Education.
